It’s crucial that you provide suitable access to both your old and new properties on moving day. For health and safety reasons, we cannot park across the street from your property to load or unload. Access should be directly in front of your property unless otherwise agreed upon with our surveyor or office staff.
If parking is limited, please reserve space for our vehicle(s):
For a large truck, reserve 3-4 car bays (in length).
For a Luton van, reserve 2-3 car bays.
You can do this by parking in the bays yourself or placing bins or cones in the area the night before. If you’re unsure about the amount of space we need, feel free to ask.
If your move requires parking permits, please arrange to have them in place before the moving day.
Let your neighbours know about your move in advance, even if they are understanding, so they can prepare. This will help avoid any issues with parking or access for our vehicles, both at your current and new home. Your neighbours will appreciate your courtesy, and it could also give you a chance to introduce yourself.
If you have a driveway, please ensure it’s clear. If we can park there, great; if not, we’ll still need it clear to avoid moving furniture around parked cars.
Please inform us of any special parking conditions at both your current and new property, such as:
Yellow lines, one-way systems, or weak drain/manhole covers
Overhanging trees or narrow roads
Tight access points or other obstacles
Moving day can be stressful for both children and pets due to the high level of activity in your home. To prevent accidents or stress:
We recommend that you arrange for someone to look after your children and pets during the move. This will help them stay safe and allow them to settle into their new surroundings without any added worry.
Be sure to pack a Survival Box for both ends of the journey. This box will contain the essentials you need as soon as you arrive at your new home.
Kettle, tea/coffee, and milk
Toilet paper and toiletries
Laptop, phone chargers, and a change of clothes
Bread and any other snacks or food items you’ll need immediately
Your Survival Box should be the last thing to leave your old home and the first to arrive at your new one. Store it somewhere safe, so you can make that all-important cuppa as soon as you get in!
For safety and legal reasons, we are unable to transport certain items. Please make sure you make arrangements to move these items yourself.
Stolen goods, drugs, or pornographic material
Explosive, hazardous, or damaging items (e.g., aerosols, paints, firearms, ammunition)
Valuables, including: Jewellery, watches, trinkets, precious stones, or metals. Money, deeds, securities, stamps, coins, or collections
Please pack these items securely and transport them in your personal vehicle.
If your move involves any appliances, fixtures, or fittings, please note the following:
If mentioned in your quotation, our crew will dismantle and reassemble necessary items (e.g., furniture or larger equipment).
We can disconnect appliances (such as washing machines or dishwashers) at your old property, but we cannot reconnect them at your new home unless stated in your quotation.
If you’ve opted for our standard packing service (rather than full packing), please ensure everything is packed securely and ready for transport. Proper preparation will help prevent any damage to your belongings.
Wrap all fragile items (glassware, TVs, electronics, etc.) in bubble wrap or other protective materials.
Label all boxes clearly with the room they belong to. Write directly on the tape so that boxes can be recycled.
Mark any fragile items with a “Fragile” label to ensure special care is taken.
Try to empty your fridge and freezer leading up to the move. For any remaining items, use cooler boxes to transport them.
Wardrobe Items:Keep clothes on hangers. We will provide wardrobe boxes on moving day to safely transport hanging items.
